I became interested in jewellery as a form of artistic expression because of the inherent intimacy of small-scale work. I find that a pendant invites the viewer to come closer, to turn it in their hands, and to explore it in a way that larger scale pieces might not. My interest in decorative surfaces and finishes encourages me to explore innovative techniques such as raku, smoke firing and gold leafing in order to achieve fresh and varied effects. I also prepare 'fused' and 'troche worked' glass beads. Everything I make is one of a kind...when it is gone is gone
